3 SIMPLE STEPS TO SPRUCE UP YOUR HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! We don’t know about you, but one of our favorite things about the holiday season is transforming our homes from the fall harvest and transforming them into a winter wonderland.

Where to get started? It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. DECLUTTER, SIMPLIFY, CLEAN.

Spring cleaning gets all the credit, but a holiday purge can be a great way to get a fresh slate and to help others in need. Before you start decorating your home for the holidays consider a purge. Donate or recycle the old or outdated items or decor you don’t need or like anymore. After all, Christmas comes only once a year and it should be a time of comfort yourself and your visitors. For decluttering motivation refer to the expert Marie Kondo.

EXPERT TIPS:

  • Clean using seasonal scented products, put out some pot pourri, or try this tip from hunker.
  • Rearrange furniture to maximize natural light and create easy pathways from room to room.
  • Place decorations so that they are out of the way and easy to take down.

2. GET INSPIRATION ONLINE

What did we ever do before the days of Etsy, Pinterest, and other social media channels? Utilize your favorite brands’ social accounts for inspiration–or Pinspiration, as we like to say.

(Psst, we just so happen to post our own inspo now and then. Follow us on Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Etsy, for some holiday ideas using our sustainable and stylish reclaimed wood.)
