Nickel Gap Boards Milled From New or Reclaimed Wood

This is a milling process similar to shiplap where two rabbeted edges come together to meet flushly. Nickel gap boards have one rabbeted edge longer than the other creating a gap between the boards of 1/8", which is approximately the thickness of a nickel. Often shiplap is installed using spacers to get the "nickel gap look." Nickel gap can be used for both horizontal and vertical applications and come with many different finishes available. These reclaimed wood boards contribute towards satisfying credits MR3, MR4, and MR5 under LEED®.

The face is typically 4.5”.
