RECLAIMED SHIPLAP SIDING

ABOUT OUR SHIPLAP SIDING

Transform the look of your home with the rustic charm and modern appeal of shiplap siding. At Centennial Woods, we provide high-quality reclaimed wood siding designed to deliver strength, style, and sustainability. Each plank of our shiplap siding is naturally weathered in Wyoming's extreme weather conditions for 7-10 years, giving it an authentic texture and low moisture content (4-8%). The result is a natural product with superior durability and pest resistance, all without energy-intensive kiln drying.

EXTERIOR SHIPLAP BOARDS BUILT FOR LASTING PERFORMANCE

Our exterior shiplap boards feature a naturally weathered surface and overlapping edges that create a tight seal and a deep shadow line. They can also be installed in a nickel-gap style, with a small, even gap between boards for a cleaner, more uniform reveal. This precision profile helps prevent gaps that trap moisture, making it a low-maintenance alternative to traditional lap siding or clapboard siding. Each board is precision-milled for consistent width and thickness, which makes for easy siding installation. We offer multiple finish color options to complement any architectural style. The boards are durable and long-lasting, suitable for exterior siding, and may also be used for interior applications by buyers who want a thicker option to install over bare or exposed studs. Our standard plank lengths are 8 ft and 12 ft, giving you flexibility for larger projects. For added protection, shiplap can be purchased with a pre-applied coating of our Centennial Seal (a clear-drying UV and moisture protectant) and/or a flame-retardant coating that gives the wood an added layer of fire protection.

PROTECTANT SEALANTS

CENTENNIAL SEAL

Centennial Seal™ protects your wood siding exterior wall against fading and water damage. It won't change the appearance of your wood surface and lasts about 5 years, depending on exposure levels. It can be pre-applied or shipped in quart containers. Use Centennial Cut-Seal™ to seal raw edges after installation or repair.

FLAME STOP II

Our flame-retardant coating gives Centennial Woods products added fire protection. We apply it in-house before shipping, so your boards arrive ready to install. We recommend it for any wood placed near fireplaces, stoves, or other heat sources, and it will not change the natural look of your finished siding.

SUSTAINABLE SIDING FROM CENTENNIAL WOODS

Our shiplap offers a clean, timeless look with its naturally weathered surface and overlapping edges, making it a versatile and durable choice for both exterior siding and soffit as well as direct-to-stud interior applications. As a natural product, shiplap balances rustic charm with modern materials, especially when paired with stainless steel accents for a clean exterior finish or our weathered wood nominal 1x6 siding for a more cohesive look. Shiplap stands out for its precision milling, consistent dimensions, and wide range of finish colors, which make it easy to achieve a uniform result across a wall. It sits alongside our other reclaimed profiles, like tongue and groove and weathered wood consistent, so you can choose the look that fits your project, whether that leans refined or more rugged and aged. Run horizontally, or as vertical shiplap, it suits almost any design preference and is ideal for those who want a balance of natural texture and contemporary appeal.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is shiplap the only type of siding you sell?

No, we also offer tongue and groove, weathered wood consistent S3S, and weathered wood nominal 1x6 siding, each with its own profile, finish, and best-fit application. If you are deciding between profiles, our shiplap vs. tongue and groove siding guide breaks down how the two compare.

Does reclaimed wood siding need special maintenance outdoors?

Reclaimed wood siding requires occasional maintenance outdoors, similar to any other exterior home feature, but it stays low-maintenance thanks to a pre-applied Centennial Seal UV and moisture protectant. Centennial Seal lasts about five years and can be easily reapplied.

How much shiplap siding do I need, and how is it sold?

Our shiplap siding is sold by the square foot, so measure the length and height of each wall to find your coverage, then add about ten percent for cuts and waste. Boards come in 8 ft and 12 ft standard lengths, giving you flexibility for walls of any size. Request a formal quote with shipping for an exact order total.

Can reclaimed shiplap be installed indoors?

We recommend using our reclaimed wood paneling for interior applications. However, we have had customers use our siding for ceiling applications before if they are looking to apply wood to bare/exposed studs or ceiling joists.

How do I clean exterior shiplap siding?

Use a soft-to-medium bristle brush, broom, or, if necessary, a low-pressure rinse. Avoid harsh chemicals and excessive water. Dry cleaning preserves the wood's texture and patina.

Should I treat shiplap siding for fire safety?

Reclaimed wood is naturally dry, with a low moisture content from years of weathering, so in fire-prone areas it can benefit from added protection. We can apply a flame-retardant coating in-house before shipping for an added layer of fire protection.

How is reclaimed shiplap siding sourced?

Our reclaimed shiplap siding is sourced from Wyoming snow fences that have aged 7-10 years outdoors, giving the wood a naturally weathered patina and low moisture content. The boards are then brought to our USA-based lumber mill, where they are precision-milled into shiplap by Centennial Woods' craftsmen.
