RECLAIMED WOOD PATIO WALL PANELS

Elevate your outdoor living space with the natural character of Centennial Woods' reclaimed wood siding. Whether you're adding an accent wall to a covered patio, building privacy panels around an outdoor room, or creating a backdrop behind a fire pit, our reclaimed wood brings warmth and texture to any outdoor patio setting. Each plank is naturally weathered for 7–10 years on Wyoming's snow fences, delivering an authentic patina and high durability that no artificial process can replicate.

INSTALLATION

PREPARE BOARDS

Keep siding protected from exposure to moisture. Allow boards to acclimate onsite for approximately 3-5 days to adjust to local weather conditions.

PREPARE SURFACE

Start with a clean, dry wall surface. We recommend furring strips every 16–20 inches and a rainscreen or moisture barrier behind the siding. Best practices may vary by region; consult a siding installation professional if needed.

SECURE BOARDS

Use ring-shank nails for a durable hold (stainless steel or galvanized are suitable). For shiplap, follow overlapping guidelines for a seamless fit.

PATIO WALL PANEL IDEAS

Patio Accent Wall: Install reclaimed wood on a single wall behind your outdoor seating or dining space. The weathered texture pairs beautifully with concrete, natural stone, and metal furnishings.

Patio Privacy Wall: Clad a privacy wall that shields your outdoor living space from neighboring views. Unlike a vinyl fence or aluminum privacy screen, reclaimed wood delivers a warm, organic look. It can also be used for seasonal or movable privacy screens, making it a great option for areas like patios or hot tubs.

Fire Pit Surround Wall: Create a dramatic backdrop behind a fire pit or outdoor fireplace. When treated with Flame Stop II, our wood is rated for use near high-temperature areas.

Covered Patio or Porch Enclosure: Transform an ordinary enclosure into a true outdoor room. The weathered surface adds character to the walls surrounding a patio door.

PROTECTANT SEALANTS FOR OUTDOOR USE

CENTENNIAL SEAL

Protects your patio wall panels against fading, moisture damage, and UV rays without changing the natural appearance of the wood. Protection lasts 5–10 years, depending on exposure. Can be pre-applied or shipped in 1- and 5-gallon containers for on-site application.

FLAME STOP II

A fire-retardant sealant that provides a Class A Fire Rating for enhanced protection against high temperatures. Recommended for any patio wall installed near a fire pit, outdoor fireplace, or grill area. Can be pre-applied before shipping.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can Centennial Woods' reclaimed wood be used on outdoor patio walls?

Yes. Our exterior siding profiles, Weathered Wood Nominal 1x6, Weathered Wood Consistent S3S, Shiplap, and Tongue & Groove, are designed for outdoor use. When treated with Centennial Seal, our reclaimed wood delivers lasting durability against UV rays, moisture, and weather conditions, making it an excellent choice for patio wall panels.

What siding profile works best for a patio privacy wall?

Nominal 1x6 is our flagship product and the most cost-effective option. It delivers a classic, rustic look that works well for freestanding privacy walls or cladding over an existing patio structure.

Weathered Wood Consistent S3S is another strong option, offering a more uniform appearance, with pricing that typically falls between Nominal 1x6 and Shiplap or Tongue & Groove.

Shiplap and Tongue & Groove are also excellent choices for their tight-fitting joints that minimize gaps, creating a clean, finished appearance.

Do I need to seal the wood for outdoor patio use?

We strongly recommend the Centennial Seal for any reclaimed wood installed outdoors. It protects against UV exposure, moisture damage, and fading without altering the natural appearance. Protection lasts about 5 years and can be pre-applied before shipping or applied onsite.

How does reclaimed wood compare to vinyl or aluminum patio wall options?

Unlike vinyl siding, aluminum, or faux stone panel alternatives, reclaimed wood offers genuine natural grain, texture, and character that manufactured materials cannot replicate. Our wood is FSC® Recycled, GREENGUARD Gold certified, and sustainably sourced.

Can I install reclaimed wood near a fire pit?

Yes. Add our fire-retardant treatment for a Class A Fire Rating on any patio wall near a fire pit, outdoor fireplace, or grill area.

Can I use interior paneling on an outdoor patio wall?

Our interior paneling is designed for indoor use. For outdoor patio walls, use our exterior siding profiles, which are thicker, more durable, and better suited for weather conditions and UV exposure. They are available in the same finishes as our interior paneling.
